I’m Christina. I’m so glad you stopped by.

I live in the plains of Oklahoma with my husband, four kids, and two Great Pyrenes pups.

This blog was born out of my deep longing to stay home with my kids and desire to help other moms who want to do the same thing.

Here’s my story…

I became a mom in 2008 to a beautiful, bright-eyed, spunky little girl. From the moment I held her I knew my measly, four-week maternity leave was not going to be long enough and I was right.

Each of those early days with my new baby flew by as I dreaded the day I would kiss her little face and return to work.

That day finally approached and it was harder than I could have imagined. Despite the encouragement of well-meaning friends, it never became easier.

It never became easy to wake a sleeping baby, load her heavy car seat into a frosty car on a cold, winter morning, and pay a babysitter a good portion of my salary to do the job I wanted to do.

It never became easy to answer to a boss for every fever and pediatrician appointment or to frantically log sick days and vacation time when my little girl just needed me home.

It never became easy to discreetly use a breast pump in a public restroom and literally cry over spilled milk.

It never became easy to miss all of her “firsts”   and it wasn’t easy when her first words were (I kid you not), “bye-bye mama”.

I cried on my way to work on that first day and I cried on my way to work six months in, and it never became easy to leave my children when everything in me wanted to be home with them.

Some moms thrive in the workplace. It’s where they are made to be. They are making a difference corporately and making the world a better place. If you are one of these moms, I think you are superwoman. You’re doing hard things!

I am not one of those moms. No matter how hard I try to suppress my dream, I am made to be home. It’s my calling. I was the kid that stood up in front of my kindergarten class and declared I wanted to be a mommy when I grew up, and I never changed my mind.

I now have four sweet children. When I was eight months pregnant with our fourth, I knew it was time for a change. They were growing so fast. I felt like their childhoods were slipping through my fingers. My heart could not handle another too-short maternity leave. The problem was that we could not afford to give up my income.

I was desperate and determined. I read every resource I could on how to work from home. I knew people could make money blogging, and while I wasn’t sure it would work for me and I knew nothing about the blogging world (or really any type of technology for that matter!), I was willing to try anything.

On my journey to find a feasible way to stay home, I realized I’m not the only mom out there who felt trapped in an office while their hearts were at home.

My purpose for launching this blog is two-fold. #1. To replace my income and stay home with my kids. #2. To serve as a platform where I share my journey, insight, encouragement, motivation, mistakes, and tricks learned along the way with others of you who just want to be home.

If that’s you, please stick around a while!

Let’s connect, share our stories, and grow together. You can sign up for my e-mail list here. While you’re at it, go ahead and shoot me an e-mail, leave a comment, or connect with me on social media. I’d love to meet you.
